Saudi SASO Introduction


In August 2004, in accordance with the Saudi Council of Ministers resolution and the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Commerce, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia began to implement the Conformity Certificate for Goods exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2013, Saudi standards and measurement The Quality and Performance Bureau (SASO) has developed and approved a process for issuing CoCs to goods and products exported to Saudi Arabia through an accreditation cooperation agreement. All products and commodities exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (except for specific commodities) need to meet Saudi standards and technical specifications, and obtain a CoC certificate issued by a certification body before entering the Saudi market. The CoC certificate issued by the certification body that signed the accreditation cooperation agreement with SASO will be directly recognized by Saudi Customs and other regulatory agencies.

Scope of consumer products covered by GS certification


1. Household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen utensils, etc.

2. Household machinery

3. Sports goods

4. Home electronic equipment, such as audio-visual equipment

5. Electrical and electronic office equipment, such as copiers, fax machines, shredders, computers, printers, etc.

6. Industrial machinery, experimental measuring equipment

7. Other safety related products such as bicycles, helmets, ladders, furniture


Certification process


1, submit the bill of invoice, application form, product test report, product photos and photo of packaging taro

2, Hangzhou Safety Certification will review the certification materials, review cycle 1~2 working days

3. If the audit data meets the requirements, an inspector will be sent to the factory for pre-shipment inspection. If the information does not meet the SASO requirements, the Hangzhou Safety Certification Association will propose modifications and assist the company to complete the SASO requirements, and then send the inspectors to the factory for pre-shipment inspection.

4, finishing the inspection report, issuing a draft certificate, the company verified the inspection certificate information is complete and correct

5, the original certificate is issued, and the certificate and invoice are delivered to the company.


Inspection requirements


Product nameplate:

1. All nameplates need to be in Arabic or English, or Arabic and English.

2. All nameplate information needs to include the following:

Description / Product Name

Manufacturer's name or trademark

model

Country of origin

3. The packaging of electrical products needs to contain the following information

Voltage (single phase: 220V, 230V, 220/230V, three phase: 380V, 400V)

Frequency (60Hz)

Power (if any)

(If there is a plug to comply with the BS 1363 standard)
