The new EU low voltage directive was implemented on April 20, 16

(1) Background introduction:
The latest Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU was announced on March 29, 2014 in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ), which will replace the original Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC. The original order will be abolished on April 20, 2016.
(2) The new Directive 2014/35/EU has the same scope and security objectives as the original Directive 2006/95/EC, with the following differences:
1. The new Directive clarifies that it is supplied by means of remote sales, whether it is manufactured in the EU or imports of new or used electrical products from a third country are included in the Directive.
2. Customized evaluation kits and their development equipment used by professional research are outside the scope of this directive.
3. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is considered in the light of the harmonized standards of
(iii) Compared with Directive 2006/95/EC, the new Directive 2014/35/EU adds the following:
1. The new directive adopts the new legislative framework (NLF). Clarified the responsibilities of manufacturers, authorized representatives, importers and distributors.
2. In order to facilitate the exchange of information between the parties, in addition to the communication address, the new directive encourages the factory to provide an electronic network address.
3. The new Directive clarifies that no notification body involvement is required during the conformity assessment process.
4. The new Directive clearly states that technical documentation should include adequate risk analysis and assessment.
5. The new directive provides detailed market supervision, handling of hazardous electrical products and post-fighting protection processes.
6. The new Directive stipulates that when the CE mark, CE Declaration of Conformity, technical documentation or manufacturer's information is found to be inconsistent, the manufacturer and importer should take corrective action to correct the non-conformity. Otherwise, the relevant Member State will take measures to restrict or prohibit the sale of the product in the market and ensure that the sold product is recalled from the market.
7. In accordance with the new Directive, Member States are required to establish penalties applicable to the laws of Member States that are in violation of the Directive, which includes criminal penalties for serious violations.
(4) Important dates
1. The new LVD was announced on March 29, 2014 in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ).
2. This directive will enter into force and be implemented in the national legislation of member states on April 19, 2016.
3. The new Directive will replace the current Directive 2006/95/EC on April 20, 2016.
