Elevator Lifts

The new elevator directive 2014/33/EU will be enforced on April 20, 2016, completely replacing the old directive 95/16/EC Lifts, with no transition period.

Scope of application


1. This Directive applies to lifts used in permanent buildings and construction. It also applies to the safety components listed in Appendix IV for such lifts.
2. For the purposes of this Directive, the term "elevator" means an appliance for a particular height that has a carriage that moves along a rigid rail that is at an angle greater than 15 degrees from the ground plane and is Transport by intended use: - personnel; - personnel and cargo; - if the carriage is allowed, the cargo is carried separately, which means that a person can enter the vehicle without difficulty and is suitable for the controller to be in the vehicle Or one person arrives in the car.
