What is LVD?

LVD (Low Voltage pirective), low voltage command.

On March 29, 2014, the official European Union journal published a new version of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU to replace the original Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC. The new Directive 2014/35/EU will be implemented on April 20, 2016. The goal of LVD is to ensure the safety of low voltage equipment when in use. Low-voltage equipment is defined as electrical equipment with a rated voltage between 50 and 1000 volts for alternating current and 75 to 1500 volts for direct current. Broadly speaking, low-voltage devices contain consumer products and devices designed to operate within this voltage range. It includes household appliances, hand tools, lighting equipment, wires, cables and pipelines, and wiring equipment. This directive contains all safety rules for this device, including protection against mechanical hazards.

Low voltage command requirements

LVD specifies that EU Member States must take appropriate measures to ensure that electrical equipment sold in the domestic market does not endanger people's safety or endanger domestic animals or property.

Therefore must do:

1. Equipment must be designed in a good manner in accordance with safety regulations

2, the equipment must be properly installed and maintained

3, the equipment must be used according to the design purpose

These conditions are met if the equipment meets the specific safety regulations recognized by all Member States. Without compromising other forms of proof, compliance can be demonstrated by reference to synergistic standards that specify good design practices. The LVD was developed earlier than the CE mark. The CE mark is the new program directive drafted by the European Union in recent years. Directive 93/68/EEC modified the LVD to meet today's needs. According to Directive 93/68/EEC, a manufacturer or an authorized representative within the European Union may prepare a Declaration of Conformity by attaching a CE mark to the product indicating that it complies with LVD and related regulations. From the time of product launch, the manufacturer must retain the technical documentation for 10 years for the relevant units to conduct inspections.

What equipment needs to comply with the low voltage directive?

The term "low voltage" as used herein does not mean 3 volts, 5 volts, or 12 volts. Explain the first article of the Ming Dynasty according to the instructions:

“Electrical equipment” as used in this Directive refers to all products designed for use between AC voltages of 50V to 1,000V and direct charging of between 75V and 1,500V.
